Help Rosa Recover from Lyme Disease

UPDATE 20 FEB: Thanks to kind and generous donors, Rosa is now starting her treatment for Lyme disease. In addition to the $1,500 raised here on GoFundMe, there have been private pledges enabling her to move forward with treatment.

We need to raise $3000 more to ensure that Rosa will be able to complete Lyme treatment. It's vital to her family that we get her over that line, as Lyme disease has robbed her of energy, plus caused many Lyme-related problems: lupus, skin conditions and hair loss, digestive disorders and weight loss, brain fog and extreme fatigue. Rosa badly wants to be able to play soccer with her sons again, pick up more hours at work again and resume the community volunteering that means so much to her.

I am deeply grateful to everyone who has donated, shared this fundraiser, and simply reached out to express their support. Every bit of positive energy coming towards Rosa gives her hope, and assures her that other people care.

If you are new here:

I started this fundraiser because my dear friend Rosa Walker has been losing the health and strength she needs to lead her normally full, active life as a devoted community volunteer, education advocate for neurodivergent students -- many Spanish-speaking -- and loving wife and mother.

I've known Rosa for more than 20 years, and it has been painful to see her health declining in the last few years, seemingly without reason. The diagnosis of Lyme disease made everything make sense. At the same time, all three of Rosa's children were diagnosed with Lyme -- probably contracted in utero. Rosa and her husband decided to treat the children first, which consumed their savings, leaving Rosa's health to decline further while the family tried to save enough for her treatment.

The same RNA-based infusion therapy that has helped her children will help Rosa, too. And now, thanks to the kindness of strangers, Rosa will soon receive the first of two infusions.

The full treatment costs are $7900:
  • $500 for diagnostic testing
  • $5,000 for two infusion treatments
  • $2,400 for four doctor’s visits

If you can donate and help us raise the last $3,000, thank you! If that doesn't work for you at this time, I'd so appreciate if you'd share this page with friends; it can make such a difference. Whatever you’re able to do, know that you're helping someone whose greatest joy is helping others reclaim her own health and happiness.
