Help Rosa Find Stability and a Second Chance

Rosa Magana’s journey is one of resilience and hope. She came to the United States from El Salvador at 21, determined to build a new life. Through hard work and perseverance, she earned her citizenship and spent decades working as a housekeeper, caretaker, and part-time nanny. Over the years, Rosa faced the heartbreak of losing touch with her family back home, and eventually, her parents and siblings passed away. Despite these losses, she remained dedicated to creating a life for herself here.

Recently, Rosa’s world was turned upside down. She was working as a live-in caretaker when the woman she cared for passed away. In the same week, Rosa lost both her job and her home. With no family in the U.S. and her savings quickly running out, she struggled to find work in a world that had changed drastically over the past decade. Rising housing costs, the digital age, and health challenges made it nearly impossible for her to get back on her feet, and she found herself on the verge of homelessness for the first time in her life.

I met Rosa one night at local store I frequent and felt a nudge to go up and talk to her and offer her prayer. She opened up to me about her story and it absolutely moved me in my heart to take action. With the help of my church and the generous people in it, we were able to rally around her and into temporary housing staying with a husband and wife who generously opened up their home to provide some relief. Rosa was an absolute gem and left her space spotless, was so thankful and has been nothing but kind, funny, down to earth—and has been a light in my life and all of those who come into contact with her. We want nothing more than to help her see that she’s not alone, God is not done with her, and that there is hope for a new beginning.

The funds raised will go directly toward cushioning Rosa’s rent, helping her with transportation and groceries, covering her phone and basic necessities like a bed and utilities, and supporting her medical appointments and medications. This support will give her the stability she needs while she looks for more stable job opportunities and enter back into independence.

We want to help gather some finances as a launch fund to help ease the transition and burden that’s on her shoulders. It doesn’t matter how much—every bit helps. Rosa has shown me how precious life is and the importance of caring for our neighbors. I’m grateful to have met her and to help, but now I need your support to rally around this beautiful woman and give her a second chance at life. Let’s show her that things can still turn around for the good. God bless.
