Nearly 20 years ago, Rosa and her husband moved from El Salvador to build a future for their family. Together, they raised four sons: a close-knit family of six. Today, their two eldest have grown into adulthood, while their two youngest (14 and 16) are currently "blasting" their way through middle and high school, following in their big brothers’ footsteps.

However, last year, their lives were shattered. Rosa and her husband were detained by ICE and held for three agonizing months. During that time, the four brothers were left to care for one another, living every day in constant uncertainty about whether they would ever see their parents again.

While Rosa was eventually released and returned home to her boys, her husband was deported.

Now, Rosa is the sole provider and anchor for her family. She works laboriously cleaning houses to make ends meet, but her single income simply is not enough to cover the rising costs of rent, groceries, and necessities like clothes and shoes for her growing sons.

The pressure on Rosa is heavy. With her own immigration hearing on the horizon, she lives with the constant fear of being separated from her children again. She needs to secure legal representation to try to stay with her boys and ensure they can grow into the independent men their older brothers have become.

We are raising funds to help Rosa cover:

• Legal fees for an immigration attorney.

• Essential living expenses (rent and utilities).

• Basic needs for her two youngest sons (groceries and clothing).

Hace casi 20 años, Rosa y su esposo llegaron desde El Salvador para construir un futuro para su familia. Juntos, criaron a cuatro hijos: una familia de seis muy unida. Hoy, sus dos hijos mayores ya son adultos, mientras que los dos menores (de 14 y 16 años) se esfuerzan al máximo en la secundaria y la preparatoria, siguiendo los pasos de sus hermanos mayores.

Sin embargo, el año pasado, sus vidas se vieron destrozadas. Rosa y su esposo fueron detenidos por ICE y permanecieron bajo custodia durante tres meses agonizantes. Ahora, Rosa es el único sostén y el pilar de su familia. Ella trabaja arduamente limpiando casas para salir adelante, pero un solo ingreso simplemente no es suficiente para cubrir los crecientes costos de alquiler, alimentos y necesidades básicas como ropa y zapatos para sus hijos en crecimiento.

La presión sobre Rosa es inmensa. Con su propia audiencia de inmigración en el horizonte, vive con el temor constante de ser separada de sus hijos nuevamente. Ella necesita asegurar representación legal para intentar quedarse con sus hijos y garantizar que ellos puedan convertirse en los hombres independientes que sus hermanos mayores ya son.
