Help Our Friend Rory Grabowsky to Walk Again

Donation protected
From Rory's friends, Alan Leafman and Nina Gorbach,

Rory Grabowsky, a lifelong friend, Rogers Park resident, alum of Clinton Elementary and Mather High School, '67 needs our help. After undergoing back surgery he was on his way to recovery but one night shortly after his surgery he collapsed and could not regain his footing.

He is now confined to a rehabilitation hospital and, unfortunately, has been told by his doctors that, without physical therapy, he may never walk or sit up under his own power again. Rory has exhausted his insurance plan's physical therapy benefits so it's up to us to help provide these desperately needed services. Life has thrown Rory a lot of curves, but nothing like this. He needs our prayers, encouragement, and financial assistance.

Please do whatever you can to help this kind, wonderful man.

Thank you, and please read on for a message from our mutual, lifelong friend, Nina Gorbach....

Rory is a beloved friend. Physical therapy, a pressing need, is no longer available to him. Without this resource, he will surely lose the capacity to recover his mobility and functionality. Financial and emotional support will help him literally move forward.

Since childhood there have been times I could not walk due to illness. Without my family and skilled doctors I would not be walking today. First-class friends brought light to my healing as I re-learned how to walk, dance and play. To keep moving is critical, no less as we age. I want to see Rory walk again.

For years Rory has given generously to friends and strangers, sharing acts of kindness near and far. Without fail, he has found creative ways to support individuals and non-profit programs.

Donations, big and small, are powerful and your support will be life changing. (Financial gifts can remain anonymous if you like.) Encouraging words and thoughts matter, too. A phone call or heartfelt note boosts our spirits, carries us.

Rory is doing the hard work of healing. His resilience and commitment to independence are strong. Help us get Rory back on his feet. Back doing what he loves most--living and giving!

With gratitude, love and blessings,

Nina Gorbach
