Help Rory Walk Again – My Sweet Girl Needs Surgery
Donation protected
This is a vulnerable post for me, but I’m reaching out in desperation to help my shadow—my fur baby, Rory.
Rory is my (almost) six-year-old golden retriever. She recently and spontaneously suffered a completely torn CCL in her back left leg (the canine equivalent of a human ACL). Until now, she’s always been incredibly healthy, happy, active, and full of life… showing anyone and everyone her wiggle butts and orange ball. Now, I have to support her back legs just to help her climb the stairs.
After multiple consultations and hundreds of dollars spent with orthopedic surgeons, we have been told that her surgery will require six screws and cost approximately $6,800. As you can imagine, this is a daunting amount. There is a 50% chance this could happen to her other leg, so I’m doing everything I can to prevent that.
Rory entered my life after the traumatic death of my prior 2-year-old golden retriever in 2019. She is more than just a pet—she is family. She’s my constant companion, my shadow, my light. Watching her struggle to walk, lay down, climb stairs truly breaks my heart. Until she has surgery, running or even walking too far is out of the question. Let alone chasing after her most favorite companion of all, her orange ball. This has been incredibly hard to share, but any amount of support—whether it’s a donation, a share, or simply a kind word—means the world to us.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read our story and for helping give Rory the fulfilling life she deserves.
