I am writing regarding my son Rorey Smith (14 years old) who has been selected to compete in the 2025 Junior Simmental Breeders Camp held in Pittsworth - QLD, December 2025. The expo will be held from the 5/12/25 - 8/12/25.

We moved to Railton 4 years ago and enrolled Rorey into the local Sheffield School, where he was given an opportunity to participate in their cattle handling program. Since then Rorey has been heavily involved in cattle handling through Sheffield School and with local breeder Royston Shorthorn for the past 3 years and it has been the most amazing experience and we are so thankful.

Rorey was also sponsored to participate in the Tasmanian Junior Beef expo event last year (2024) and was highly successful. The Tasmanian Junior Beef Expo is not just about the competing but is a whole weekend of learning, support and training within a camp environment all around agriculture/Beef Industry, every part of 2024 TJBE was absorbed by Rorey, his passion for Cattle Handling was further ignited and Rorey has strived to put in practice all he has learned.

Rorey and other competitors are not only judged on their ability to lead cattle but are also judged on team work, animal care and presentation, junior judging, public speaking, personal presentation and communication skills throughout the weekend.

This year Rorey also attended the 2025 Tasmanian Junior Beef Expo in Deloraine and was once again highly successful obtained a number of ribbons and commendations including taking out the Champion Greenham Sub – Intermediate Herdsperson Award, his prize was an entry to the 2025 Junior Simmental Breeders Camp and a $600 travel bursary to assist with expenses while in QLD.

We are so proud that Rorey will be representing Tasmania at the expo and in order for us to support Rorey we are seeking sponsorship to assist with travel/accommodation and other expenses as we would need to travel up either side of event this will be a costly venture but one we are willing to chase wholeheartedly.

Rorey and myself would be delighted to chat more to you and we would appreciate any financial assistance for Rorey to represent the Tasmanian Beef Industry at the 2025 Simmental Breeders Camp.
