My Story: Rebuilding After the Fire

​Hi, my name is Salem and I am the founder of Root2tip.

​For over 18 years, I have been deeply rooted in the hair industry. I launched my business with absolutely zero outside funding, driven by a singular, heartfelt mission: to help my community achieve their healthiest hair. Root2Tip isn’t just a business for me. It is a purpose-led mission. I have dedicated my life to solving scalp conditions, combating hair loss, and formulating solutions specifically for textured hair and children's hair. I have traveled, given my time, and poured my soul over and over again into serving this community.

​The Devastating Fire

​On the night of June 14th, everything changed. Our manufacturing unit was caught in a devastating building fire. The roof collapsed, the building is entirely inaccessible, and our operations have been forced to a complete, heartbreaking standstill.

​To watch something you built from scratch with no financial backing go up in flames is devastating. The shock has brought on a level of anxiety that is hard to put into words. This business is not just my passion—it is how I support my four beautiful children as a solo parent. It is our entire livelihood.

​While I am endlessly grateful to God that nobody was physically hurt, the loss to our independent brand is catastrophic.

​We are currently locked out of our premises and do not yet know if anything at all can be salvaged. But we cannot let the fire extinguish a 18-year mission of care.
