Hey, everyone. It’s Kathy here, and I want to introduce you to the very special soul in this photograph—Roo.

Roo is a 9-year-old therapy dog who brings so much joy and comfort to my dear friend Lynda, who relies on a wheelchair. But now, Roo needs our help.

This sweet girl was rescued from a heartbreaking past as a bait dog in a dog fighting ring when she was just a few weeks old. Despite the scars she carries from those early days, Roo has blossomed into a loving and steadfast companion for Lynda.

Unfortunately, Roo’s health has taken a turn for the worse. She has been diagnosed with a liver disorder and now requires monthly medications and quarterly lab tests. The costs for her care are expected to exceed $3,000 a year—something Lynda, who lives on a fixed income, simply cannot manage.

Roo is still full of life and love, and she has many more years to support Lynda in her journey. It would break our hearts to see her go.
