Help Ronnie recover from car accident
Donation protected
On Christmas day, my twin sister Ronnie was involved in a life changing car accident where her car flipped over, caught fire and landed upside down. Amongst her many injuries, she suffered multiple compound fractures of her dominant right arm and severe injuries to her hand that has required two surgeries so far to attempt to repair the damage. According to her doctors, it’s unlikely that she’ll ever regain full use of her arm and hand again. In addition to her physical injuries, she now suffers mentally from the traumatic experience, including nightmares, loss of appetite and severe anxiety.
My sister is a single mother with a 10 year old son. She is currently out of work while she recovers and due to her injuries will be unable to work for 6 months to a year.
With no income, Ronnie needs help to cover her hospital stay, multiple ambulance rides and two surgeries to date. Her car insurance only covered $10,000 of the accident medical bills that total more then $100,000. The out of pocket expenses for her current doctors visits each week are $400 not including the cost of prescribed medication. After her cast is removed in 6 weeks, she will require extensive physical therapy for any hope of regaining use of her right arm and hand. We have not been given an exact time of how long she will be in therapy for or if the treatment will give her the use of her arm and hand again. She has no ability to pay for her medical care that will include weekly doctors visits, physical therapy and emotional counseling.
This accident has caused not only a financial hardship but an emotional strain on the lives of her and her son. We are grateful that she’s still with us and appreciate any assistance we can get at this time.
