Help Ronin Recover: Support His Urgent Care

This is Ronin—an eight-year-old American Bully with the biggest heart. For all who have been lucky enough to meet him, know that he is the epitome of a people's dog. There is never a time when he isn't the first one to greet a guest (even a salesperson) at the front door with the biggest and cheesiest smile. To his family, he is so dear and stole their hearts with his charm and silly, but sometimes sassy, personality. Ronin is truly a dog with the most love to give.

Unfortunately, this past week, Ronin started to act differently than his usual self. He grew lethargic and seemed to be worried. He had even had moments and episodes where he seemed to be staring off into space with a blank look in his eyes, not responding to anything or anyone (even to his favorite things). All of this was accompanied by consistent vomiting. On Monday, 5/12/2025, we were able to take him to the emergency vet. After hours of tests, the vets were able to discover that he has lost a significant and almost dangerous amount of weight due to an inflamed pancreas and extreme dehydration (from consistent vomiting). While they were running his tests, they also found that he had foreign material caught in his small intestine, putting him at extremely high risk of it rupturing his intestine. To treat all of these occurrences, Ronin has to stay 48 hours minimum in the animal hospital to receive care to ensure the betterment of his health. Throughout the stay, he'll receive treatments to improve his condition, as well as a surgery to remove the foreign material at risk of rupturing his intestine.

We are more than happy that Ronin is receiving the care he deserves, but with this care comes an extremely high cost that is not feasible to, alone, cover. We are asking for your help to cover a portion of the costs that we have incurred to protect his livelihood.
