Roni’s Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
On January 18, 2024, Roni and John were told the scary news that what she had been told was a muscle knot, was indeed a malignant tumor. Further testing would reveal that Roni has a very rare form of bone cancer known as chondrosarcoma on her pelvis. This type of cancer does not respond to radiation or chemotherapy. With its rarity, Roni is seeking the surgery needed from the experts at MD Anderson Houston, over 1000 miles away from her six beautiful kids and loving husband.
To know Roni is to love her! She has unaffectionately named her tumor “Cynthia” and they are hoping to say goodbye to Cynthia forever on March 19th. Roni will be undergoing extensive surgery and staying in the hospital anywhere from 5-6 weeks minimum afterward. Between that and travel, expenses will be outrageous and we are hoping to alleviate some of that stress. Please share or donate if you can! Prayers are welcome! Roni will handle this with grace, class and humility, like she does everything in her life. If you’d prefer here is her Venmo: @Roni-Chaffin
