I am starting this fundraiser because my household and I have been forced to relocate after discovering mold in our home. This has turned our lives upside down and created an unexpected situation that we are doing our best to manage. Leaving home so suddenly has been overwhelming, and on top of the move itself, we have also lost many important items that now need to be replaced.

This is the 2nd home we lost due to mold, the first after hurricane Ian in 2022, then we acquired this home which now has been victim from Debby, Helene and Milton’s floodwaters and mold as a result.

We didn’t notice any problems until my son was sick more often than normal so we had an air test done and that’s when we got the news that it, like our previous home, was invaded by black mold.

What should have been a safe place to live became something we could no longer stay in, and we are now trying to rebuild from a very difficult setback.

The support from this fundraiser will help us replace the belongings we lost and cover the basic needs that come with starting over again in a new place, a safer place, away from flooding.
