Help Ronald Rand rebuild “Soul of the American Actor” after Hurricane Helene

Dear Friends and Community,

I am reaching out with an open heart to support my dear friend, Ronald Rand, Founder & Publisher of “The Soul of the American Actor” newspaper and International Cultural Ambassador, who recently suffered a personal catastrophe in the aftermath of the enormous disaster from Hurricane Helene that recently hit Asheville, NC.

As Ronald described to me: “A 28-foot flood wave came crashing down the Swannanoa River traveling at over a hundred miles an hour and totally flooded and destroyed the U-Haul facility where I had stored my possessions and clothing, computers, equipment, tools, hard-drives, paintings, photos and papers of my career, original play scripts and writings from my entire life, over a thousand copies of “THE SOUL OF THE AMERICAN ACTOR” newspapers and hand-written interviews from 26 years of publishing my newspaper. Most everything floated away or was destroyed. From out of the 2-foot-thick mud in the bacteria-filled water, I was able to salvage about 10% of my life's work, but so much of it was gone. Items I was going to sell to fund my Newspaper are all gone. It has been totally devastating and will take me time to come to terms with the loss.”

Ronald wants to continue sharing the enormous passion and ideas of the artists of this country through “The Soul of the American Actor."

He created the newspaper in 1998 as the only newspaper in America online and in print dedicated to the art of the actor, the theater and all the arts. In addition, he has published over 1,500 interviews he personally conducted, engrossing essays and articles about all the arts.

As he told me: “We're at a point where, now more than ever, that we need to hear the passionate ideas of our artists and what they believe in --about how the arts can keep exciting us to continue being kinder, loving human beings.”

His endeavor of keeping “The Soul of the American Actor” going for 26 years as a service for the community has been a labor of love, and is also a costly one. And that is where you come in with this GoFundMe campaign.

It will be used to help with the following expenses:

* Purchasing new equipment and tools

* Compensating a graphic designer to create a new website and add stored images from the print issues from the past 26 years (that were lost in the disaster) and to place them online for all to read

* Compensating the graphic designer to create a new print issue

* Printing costs to make copies of the new print issue to hand out to students, subscribers and the community

So I'm now asking you to join me in donating what you can.

Monies raised will be used to re-start and rebuild the aforementioned expenses.

Please also share this request with others.

With gratitude,

Blaine Greenfield
