The Long Story Short:
Hi, my name is Audi and I met Ronald in April of 2022. I've been trying to help him get housing since then.
After suffering 2 strokes and the death of his wife, Ronald became homeless. His speech is impaired so it’s hard for him to advocate for himself. He has physical limitations and diabetes as well. People have stolen from him and taken advantage of him because his inability to defend himself.
Ronald is trying to go through HUD to get help, but the waiting time for subsidized housing is 5 years. He is not a veteran. The one mission in the city that took men in and helped them secure housing is no longer doing that ministry. There is nowhere that I can find that will help Ronald with permanent housing. All he wants is to be able to cook some food and keep up his personal hygiene. His words, not mine.
Ronald receives $700 Social Security and Disability combined. That's not much but he is willing to spend a good portion of that for rent. If we could subsidize his rent until he gets subsidized housing or until we can find a way to get him his own home, that would be amazing. I would love to dream bigger, but for now, that would be enough.
Ronald is helping spread the goodness. He is giving out earrings that I make with my sister just to say thank you and to give back. If you donate and would like me to send you a pair, please visit my Facebook page, Help Ronald Get a Home.
The picture of Ronald shows him when he was feeling like a real, cared-for person. When he had a glimpse of hope that things could be better. I’d be grateful if you’d help me help Ronald. Thanks!
