The other day, my friend and I met Ron, an 81-year-old Vietnam veteran, in Appleton, WI. His car had broken down in a McDonald's parking lot, and he had no way to get home to Clintonville, WI. We gave him a ride, and during the 40-minute drive, Ron shared so many wonderful stories from his life. When we arrived, he invited us into his home to see his artwork. Ron told us he had printed hundreds of calendars featuring his art, hoping to sell them, but he hasn’t been able to find buyers.

Ron is now stranded without transportation and has no money to fix his car or buy a new one. Despite his stressful situation, he remained incredibly kind and light-hearted, making a lasting impression on us. We want to help Ron regain his independence by raising funds to get him a reliable car and cover the initial expenses that come with it, like registration and insurance. He truly deserves a helping hand.
