Help Ron Rebuild Home Destroyed by Wildfire

My brother Ron Brokaw has suffered a catastrophic loss of his home in a Washington state wildfire set by arsonists, which burned over 225,000 acres, in Douglas County September 7th, 2020 and suddenly finds himself homeless. Unfortunately, his home was not insured. Insurance companies advised, due to the remote location, he would have to install sprinkler systems for it to be insured and the cost was too great.  

Ron is a 73-year-old Viet Nam veteran living on a limited income and needs help to rebuild a very small modest home on this property located in central Washington on a plateau near Coulee City.

Ron is a man of faith and has worked hard all his life and to find himself in this situation is heartbreaking.   Those who know and love him are pitching in to help as much as we can, but we are also asking help of others who may have compassion for his situation. I cannot imagine what it must be like to watch your home burn to the ground and have to rely on friends and family for a place to lay your head at night. Ron escaped with only the clothes on his back and a few items he was able to carry.

Ron has spent his life helping others, especially taking care of his beloved wife Becky who was disabled and has since passed away. Ron gladly made employment choices that allowed him to be with and take care of Becky as much as possible.

Ron needs help now to build a safe place to call home. He has multiple friends who have indicated they will provide the labor to build. He needs help in procuring the building materials for the work to begin.
