Ron Panetta is facing the toughest battle of his life. Ron has been courageously fighting Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS)—a rare condition in which the body’s immune system attacks the nerves. This devastating illness has left him paralyzed from the neck down multiple times, but each time, he has fought his way back.
Now, for the first time, GBS has taken an even more severe toll—Ron had to be placed on a ventilator to help him breathe. As he continues his fight, he will undergo a tracheotomy and then be transferred to a long-term acute care facility to begin the long and challenging road to recovery.
How You Can Help
Ron’s journey will require extensive medical care, rehabilitation, and support. His road to recovery will be physically, emotionally, and financially demanding. We are reaching out to family, friends, and kind-hearted supporters to help alleviate the financial burden so he can focus on what matters most—getting stronger and regaining his independence.
