Help Ron LeBlanc heal from his burns

Donation protected
On Wednesday, Jan 29, my dear friend Ron LeBlanc was getting ready for the next chapter in his life and was cleaning up the property where he has had an ACMPR grow for the last decade. He used some gas to get a fire started and didn't notice that the can was leaking. It blew up, covering his face in gasoline and raging flames that Ron couldn't help but inhale. Struggling to breathe and in immense pain, he was airlifted to Vancouver General. During the flight Ron heard one of the medics said "we're losing him" and he was devastated that he might leave his family behind.

Fortunately this story does not end in tragedy, but the struggle is real right now. Ron had just taken a dream job to work with the legendary Charles Dave Scott, aka "Reeferman." It’s not a high paying job, but knowledge is power and the chance to work and learn from such a titan was irresistible. We had so many exciting chats about the near future.

He was to fly to Croatia soon to do breeding selections on a 600 acre hemp farm. His job isn't going anywhere, but he won't be able to start as soon as he would like, and this has been an expensive experience for his family, with his wife Vanessa’s missed work and ferries to Vancouver, hotels and meals, and Ron’s inability to work for the next month.

Ron is no stranger to pain. He suffers from trigeminal neuralgia (nicknamed the suicide disease) and has had a pain coach for years. Thankfully his burns are mostly first degree, but unfortunately they hurt even worse than his trigeminal neuralgia right now.

Friends of Ron know that he is a very intelligent, compassionate person. From starting a shelter for the homeless on the Sunshine coast, which is now run by the Salvation Army, to being an amazing husband and doting father to his two children, and sharing his immense knowledge of cannabis growing in online and offline forums, he is just a gem of a human being.

My favourite attribute of Ron’s is his sense of humour. There are few people in the world that can make me laugh as hard and as often as Ron can. I cherish our regular phone calls and look forward to the day we can live in the same town. There are not enough Ron LeBlancs in the world, and we almost lost him. He needs to relax and heal right now, not worry about making ends meet in an already challenging transitional time in his career.

Thanks so much for your love and support of Ron, Vanessa, Juna and Destin!
