If you knew Ron Lange, you know he’s always been the life of the party.

Class of 1978 — football team captain, class clown, and magician extraordinaire — Ron had a way of making everyone laugh, smile, or wonder “how did he do that?” He was constantly entertaining all of us, in every way imaginable — whether it was pulling a coin from behind your ear, cracking the perfect joke, or lighting up a room just by being in it.

A few months ago, Ron suffered a major stroke that left the left side of his body paralyzed. Since then, he’s been fighting hard to recover, but he hasn’t been able to get into the right rehabilitation facility that can truly help him.

His older brother Dennis has been his full-time caretaker, doing everything he can — but the reality is, they’re struggling. When I last visited them in Houston, Texas, I saw firsthand how difficult things have become. Ron doesn’t have the proper equipment to get in and out of bed safely, and they’re doing their best with very limited resources.

Now it’s our turn to be there for the guy who was always there to lift our spirits.

Every dollar will go directly toward helping Ron get the rehabilitation, medical equipment, and care he desperately needs.
