Help Ron get a liver

Hi everyone, I have decided to start a GOFUNDME page, The Kautz Family Fund to help offset medical and other expenses accured during a very difficult time. Ron was diagnosed in May '23 with auto immune liver disease, he is in liver failure. The doctors have recommended a liver transplant. It has been a tumultuous year and a half. In April of 2022, Ron had a quadruple bypass and right before the surgery he was let go from his job as a real estate appraiser with Quicken Loans. As he was recovering from his open heart surgery, we moved in with my dad to help him around the house, and to get Ron back on his feet. However, on November 16, 2020, my dad, John Yates had a sudden stroke which he did not recover from he passed away on November 20. As we were trying to get through the death of my father, Ron started showing signs of liver disease. He became very jaundiced and got very sick. After our return from a trip to Illinois to see Ron's family, the doctors admitted him into the hospital for a liver biopsy, and to run other tests. The liver biopsy showed he has auto-immune liver disease. Ron is now on a plethora of medications. He is unable to work right now as he deals with major fatigue, muscle soreness, and weekly paracentesis (draining of body fluid). He still has not been put on the transplant list, further testing needs to be done on his heart to make sure his heart is strong enough to endure a transplant surgery. Everyone who knows Ron knows this is not alcohol liver induced cirrhosis . Ron I believe has had 5 beers in his entire life! A decision could come in September. I am looking into a part-time or full-time job, and trying to see how that will fit in as I take care of Ron.
