Approximately one month ago, my father, Ron Emme, had a life changing fall off of some hay bales in the shed. He laid there for several hours unable to move and unable to reach his phone in his pocket. He was in excrutiating pain and could not use his arms and legs. Thankfully family friends found him several hours later when he did not show up for dinner. (It was meatloaf-Dad never misses meatloaf). He was taken to Kankakee initially then transferred to Carle Clinic in Champaign. He had severely bruised his spinal cord which in turn has caused catastrophic nerve and motor deficits to the arms and legs. He has to relearn his normal daily functions again, such as walking and writing, that we all take for granted. He has been at Carle Clinic for 1 month now in extensive rehab and is showing small improvements every day. In just a couple days he will be moving to a longer termed 24/7 facility to continue his rehabilitation. He will be in therapy for months to years in hopes to return to "normal" which may or may not be fully acheiveable. On behalf of my amazing father, I am asking for any little or big montary donations to help him through this rough journey that he unfortunately has to endure.
