The unimaginable has happened to Ron and his family. In a heartbreaking act, someone intentionally set fire to Ron's porch, causing his house to burn severely. His oldest son was inside at the time and had to be pulled out through the kitchen window. While we are all deeply grateful that Ron and his boys made it out safely, they have lost everything in the fire. Their home, belongings, and sense of security were taken from them in an instant.

Ron has always been a pillar in the Morningside community. As the neighborhood mechanic, he has looked out for everyone’s vehicular needs, often providing transportation for those who needed it most. Beyond that, Ron is an active advisory team member for Brilliant Detroit, always eager to jump in and help wherever and whenever he is needed. Now, for the first time, Ron and his family are the ones in need. The funds raised will help Ron and his boys with their immediate needs—replacing essentials and finding temporary housing as they begin the long process of rebuilding their lives.
