We are wanting to help a co-worker/friend, Ron Pforts, with recent medical bills that are piling up due to his struggle with cancer and chemotherapy. He has been unable to work for the last two months and needs financial assistance while he battles this. Here is a little life story about Ron:
After graduating high school in 1973 Ron worked for a concrete contractor for a year. Then Ron built horse trailers for a year. Enlisted in United States Air Force 1975. Worked as an avionics tech for the A-7D fighter until 1979, when Ron was honorably discharged. Drove trucks for 2 years then attended Andrew's University in Berrien Springs, MI, for 2 years then back to truck driving. From January 1997 to October 26,2018 Ron was an owner/operator, hauling groceries for ALDI. October 29, 2018, he started with Bauer Built. In 2010 Ron was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphomatic Lukemia. Started treatments in2022. In January 2025 the CLL morphed into large B cell lymphoma. He is battling it with chemo pills and infusions. Getting stronger with physical therapy but will have to use a walker to get around. His son, Jeff lives in Burlington and his son, Henry Dean, lives in West Point, with his mother. Ron's daughter, Allyssa and her husband live in Georgia, with his two other grandsons, Liam and Gabriel. His life partner, Lisa, has been a tremendous help in his recovery and will continue to be there for him as he gets through this hardship. Ron couldn't get as far as he has without her.
Anything will help Ron with this struggle as he overcomes cancer.
Thank you!
