Help Romeo treatment
Donation protected
Hi everyone, Romeo has trained at our club from the age of 4 up until he was 10. Romeo along with his two younger brothers, Talon and River and their mum Nicky were a big part of our club.
Throughout the years Romeo trained hard to progress through the ranks to achieve his black belt and became a teacher and wonderful role model to our younger students. Unfortunately Romeo had to stop training due to his diagnosis with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).
Romeo is heading to the USA in a couple of weeks to receive treatment and I wanted to help him in some way because he was part of our family here at Kicks. Romeo will be going to receive the treatment regardless of the amount we raise, but as a parent myself I want to reach out to all who know the Paora family and ask that we come together and help them along the way.
Any small donation will make a big difference as this family embarks on their journey that will hopefully heal Romeo.
I have attached a letter from Nicky to explain the situation further.
Many of you have watched our painful journey over the past 4 years as we have watched Romeo live with the daily pain of having CRPS. After years of hospital appointments, lengthy hospital stays and living day by day as to what he can do or even if he can attend school we are changing direction with his care.
Whilst Romeo has been so lucky to have been support by his medical team here in Australia, unfortunately things are becoming increasingly harder for Romeo. Romeo is heading to the USA at the beginning of November for 12 weeks of treatment for CRPS. As you can imagine this is an incredibly tricky time for our little family as I juggle work and Talon and River throughout this time. My mum will travel to the USA with Romeo for the first 5 weeks of his treatment and then Talon and I will fly over and tag team with mum for the remaining 7 weeks.
We feel very lucky to have the opportunity to take Romeo to the clinic for this treatment and can only hope and pray that he responds well and starts to live a normal life that a 12 year old boy should. I know you will all be thinking of us and sending your love and best wishes and for that we are grateful. Lots of love, Nicky, Romeo, Talon and River
