Hello, my name is Hailey, and I am the cat mom of Romeo (aka Mr. Biscuit). Romeo is my approved emotional support animal (ESA), and he helped me get through my final year of college. He has helped me move to Grand Rapids, Michigan which was the hardest things I have had to do since I came here all alone with just my kitties. A month ago, Romeo had surgery for an ear polyp in his right ear. This cost around $2,000. With the help of the last GoFundMe for this, we were able to put some money down on that and cover his post-operative medications. We had to put the rest on a payment plan which is over after January.

Yesterday, Romeo woke my roommate up screaming and with saliva coming from the sides of his mouth and very heavy breathing. She rushed him to the emergency vet, and I met her there. Romeo was instantly put on oxygen, but the vet informed me shortly after that they were running low on oxygen and I needed to take him over to Animal Emergency and Specialty Hospital. He was taken there and also immediately put on oxygen. Once he was stabilized, he had x-rays taken and blood work done. His results indicated Congestive Heart Failure (CHF). His hospital stay was very costly ($2,200), and my partner and I used every penny and resource we had to cover the cost. My parents chipped in everything they had as well to help Romeo. He will need continuing care going forward to help manage his condition and give him the most time possible in his loving home. Romeo will need cardiology appointments to properly assess the severity of his CHF and give us a better idea of his prognosis. This can cost at least $550 which we would like to get ASAP. He also needs monitored by his primary care veterinarian which is the Lovet on Alpine. He will need to take oral medication the rest of his life, which I am very comfortable giving him, but it is another expensive that he will need covered.

I am a full-time 1st year graduate student at GVSU pursuing my Doctor of Audiology degree (Au.D.). I am currently searching for a part time position to help cover the rest of Romeo's future expenses and pay any debt I have for his previous endeavors.
