Help Romeo Fight Pancreatic Cancer

Donation protected
Dear friends and family,

Mere days after Father’s Day, on June 20th 2023, our loving father Romeo, was diagnosed with invasive Adenocarcinoma of the Pancreas.

He began Chemotherapy (Folfirinox) on July 28th 2023. After just one treatment, having had such a severe reaction that left him hospitalized from side effects, it was determined he would be too unwell to proceed with Chemotherapy. This past week we learned his cancer had metastasized to his liver, making him Stage IV, and now inoperable.

With our strong faith in God, deep love and close family we know we are in this for the long haul, and will not give up this fight!

We are asking for your support. Dad retired from CNL in January of 2020, and his pension is the only income for our parents. He has now decided to fight this with natural medicine and alternative treatments, but the cost is quickly adding up and we are feeling the financial strain already. We want to be able to use this time to be beside him, supporting him, lifting up his spirits and making cherished memories.

If you are lucky to know our Dad, Romeo, you know he is a kind, soft spoken man, and to quote a friend “he’s a true gentleman”. He’s one of the most selfless and loving people you will ever meet. He would never ask for your help like this, but He would be the first to give you the very last of whatever he had if you needed it.

I know I speak for my siblings when I say we grew up never going without (and if we did we never knew we did). He worked hard to give us opportunities he never had. He is always the first face you see cheering from the sidelines. He loves his 6 precious grandchildren and being their Papa is his favourite role. He’s very proud of them and will share stories about their accomplishments at any chance he gets.

When he was in excruciating pain, he suffered quietly, never wanting to burden us. He never missed a school concert, sports game or practice, was always up for playing cards, going fishing, enjoying days at the beach, bonfires, nature walks in the bush, bike rides, reading storybooks, and playing hide and seek. He’s the first person any of us call when we need help around our homes. He always shows up and knows exactly what to do, he can fix just about anything. So now, we need help fixing him!

Please consider making a donation to support our Dad as we begin these next steps. Your love, prayers and support means the world to our family. We welcome any proactive advice from folks who have gone through something similar, especially pancreatic cancer survivors!

God Bless,
The Audette Kids, Kayla, Shane, and Shannon
