Romeo's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Jena. Pictured above is my daughter Juliana along side of her furry pal Romeo. We rescued Romeo 4 years ago from terrible circumstances. When we took him home from Pet Finder, he was very under weight, was diagnosed with mange and was not up to-date on any medical treatment. He had a rough life but we were ready to give him better. Over the past couple of years, he has blossomed. He is now happy and just full of love. We have grown to love and adore him. We cherish the days together and couldn't be more grateful that we were the family who decided to give him another chance at a better life. With that being said, Romeo is currently very ill and has been admitted into the ER. I am trying to give him every chance I can, every chance he deserves. I don't want to loose my boy, I am not ready.... This GoFundMe is being created in hopes that we can get my Romeo the medical attention he needs in order to come home. He is a fighter and I refuse to surrender so easily. I am his voice and I will always do what I can for him.
At 2 AM this morning Romeo was admitted to NVS, an emergency vet clinic due to lethargy, vomiting, lack of appetite, nausea, and dehydration. He has lost over 8 pounds within the last week and a half. Last night, I woke up and he was vomiting stool. That was when I knew something was seriously going on and this had turned into a medical emergency. I immediately got into my car to bring him in. Here is a bit of back story.... We took Romeo to our vet last week due to the ingestion of a dog toy. The vet preformed x-ray's, gave him metronidazole and a probiotic. He still had some kind of appetite and was drinking water. All of his vitals were stable. The x-ray showed possible intermittent obstruction but could not be confirmed. He did end up throwing up pieces of the toy, which was great because we were hoping that was all that was in his abdomen area. After vomiting up those pieces of the toy, Romeo came home and was fine for a couple of days, actually he seemed almost back to himself. Unfortunately, there is more toy inside his stomach obstructed. It pains me to say that. I am devastated because I have been praying every night for the best. Within the past 72 hours, he has rapidly deteriorated. He needs immediate life saving surgery. I am currently a full-time Respiratory Therapy student, I am not working. I have been relying on my savings for his current medical bills, as well as my care credit card but they will soon be maxed out. Also, I am aware that many people are struggling and not in a position to donate. Even if you can not donate can you please just pass along and share. Any little bit helps. I will be forever in your debt, as well as grateful. I will update all of you along the way, I will post pictures as well. The love I have for Romeo is one like no other.
