Help Romello Walk
Donation protected
Hello, my son Romello Ray was hit by a car July 7, 2020 when walking across the street from Arco. He sustained a severe traumatic brain injury resulting in half his skull being removed and coma for a month. It’s an absolute miracle that he is alive today! He also has a nerve root avulsion (where the nerves to his left arm were completely torn/ripped out) He has no use of his left arm. Mello is left handed :(
After 3 years of jumping through hoops with insurance and getting turned away left & right for DESPERATELY needed physical therapy. Romello requires 3 hours per day of therapy (1 hour - occupational therapy, 1 hour- physical therapy, 1 hour- speech therapy) Insurance has NOT provided this for Romello. For in home physical therapy it costs $60 per week for one session (bare minimum) that is approximately $3,000 a year. We are starting to see his recovery moving in the right direction with the therapy we have been doing at home. Starting to finally move his left leg and take steps. He just needs to be given the opportunity to do so on a DAILY basis. It requires multiple people to move him around.
We also are looking into 2 pieces of equipment.
1. Modified Tricycle
OR
2. Recumbent Exercise Bike
These are specific medical bikes ranging from $3,000 - $10,000
If you would like to help a young man walk again and have a better quality of life, please make a donation today! Every bit helps! It takes a VILLAGE to recover from a Traumatic Brain Injury.
Thank You in advance for your support.
