On October 17, 2026, my cousin Romello Knight went out in Tower District in Fresno, CA to celebrate his sister’s birthday. While they stood in line, a scuffle broke out, and shots were fired into the crowd. Romello was struck by bullets in each of his legs. He was an innocent bystander enjoying a night out with family.
What happened next was extraordinary. Despite his own injuries, Romello put someone else’s life before his own. He provided lifesaving medical aid to another individual who had been shot during the altercation, packing his wound until help arrived. His selfless actions helped save that man’s life. Now Romello needs that same compassion and kindness in return.
Now Romello faces surgery to remove the bullets and a long recovery. He won’t be able to work while he heals. He and his partner Samantha are also expecting their first child in February. Instead of getting ready for a baby, they’re now facing unexpected medical expenses, lost income and financial uncertainty.
We’re asking our family, friends and community to come together and help Romello and Samantha through this difficult time.
Every donation, no matter how small, will help with:
- Recovery and daily living expenses while unable to work
- Rent, utilities, and groceries
- Preparing for their growing family
Romello didn’t hesitate to help someone else when their life was on the line. Now we have an opportunity to return that same kindness to him. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing his story. Every contribution and every share makes a difference.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity and support,
On the behalf of Romello & Family
