ROMAN POLIAKOV lost his battle with depression unexpectedly on November 17, 2024, in Winnipeg and left his family and girlfriend Kateryna Kalynychenko forever shocked. There are so many questions and no answers yet...

While Roman's family is searching for answers I, Yevgeniya Tatarenko, can't stand aside and watch. The truth is that funerals in Canada are unimaginably expensive for the broken family that is still in Ukraine, surviving the war reality. Roman didn't have any life insurance coverage and his girlfriend who is a newcomer herself, can't afford to pay for his cremation, Celebration of Life, repatriation of his ashes, and all documents associated with it (issuing, translation, apostilling, verification, logistics to Consulate General, documents processing, repatriation itself and so on). All those expenses will require thousands of dollars which should be found somewhere and paid as soon as possible so his family gets his ashes back home.

Roman's girlfriend Kateryna Kalynychenko is appointed by his family as their representative in Canada and decision-maker on the funeral arrangements and repatriation of ashes back home to Ukraine. A lot of work is required to make Roman's return to Ukraine possible so his mom's heart can ease. We can't leave Kateryna and Roman's family struggling to find the solutions and make the funeral and return of ashes possible! I try to help family with everything as much as possible and we need each of you to help as well! Every donation will help to make repatriation happen and heal the hearts of his family.

Roman Poliakov was an incredibly kind, mild, creative, sensitive, and open personality who loved music and everything creative. He met many people on his way playing basketball, riding his bike, roller skating, or working at the Restore Habitat for Humanity on Archibald St. So many people say that his ability to be thoughtful, kind, and creative is unbelievable and memorable! We asked a few friends to write a few memories about Roman and put them together below. All memories are given in the language they were originally written (see memories given below after Arrangements & Updates.

Current Arrangements and Updates:

* Roman's body is still under the Medical Examiner's supervision and work

* The agreement with Korban Funeral Chapel was signed on Friday, November 22

* His belongings and documents are still at the Evidence Control Unit of the Winnipeg Police Service, planned to be picked up on Monday, November 25

* Viewing is still not scheduled but potentially could happen around November 28-29

* Funds raised will be used to pay for the funeral, cremation, documents issuing and verification, logistics to and from the Consulate General, and repatriation (transportation) of ashes to Ukraine. The rest of the funds (if such) will be sent to Roman's mom Oksana Poliakova. The beneficiary of GoFundMe funds - Kateryna Kalynychenko, Roman's girlfriend, who is responsible for arrangements and expenses on behalf of the family.

* Medical Examiner emailed with details that Roman is at St.Bonigace. The Hospital was contacted and notified of the decision to go with Korban Funeral. They will contact Korban Funeral Home as soon as Roman’s body will

be ready to be transported - Mon, Nov 25

* The preliminary autopsy report will be ready in next 2 weeks (as of Monday, Nov 25)

Мені здається, що за усе своє життя я не зустрічала людини більш доброї, розуміючої та людяної ніж Рома

Дякуючи йому я переконалася, що кохання все ж таки існує. Просто навіть знаходиться поряд відчувалося як дім. Разом створювали свій маленький комфортний світ

Ми стали один одному тихою гаванню в цьому великому та такому хаотичному світі

Неймовірна, творча та багатогранна людина. Полюбляв займатися музикою, складати пазли, готувати, робити щось своїми руками, майструвати, гуляти, грати в баскетбол, кататися на велосипеді.

Він міг дивувати кожного разу розкриваючись з різних боків. Людина з дивовижною фантазією та гарним розумом

Я безмежно вдячна, що була поряд з такою унікальною Людиною як Рома, але нажаль завжди буде мало часу

Не вистачить жодних слів та часу, щоб розказати якою світлою та важливою людиною він був для мене

Золота дитина. Завжди спокійний. Роботящий. Щось болить - терпить. Мовчун.

Дуже світла дитина.

Коли Ромці було 12 років, народився його молодший брат.Як він піклувався про нього! Він любив дітей.

3. Maksym, friend, ex-colleague, and neighbour

Роман один із не багатьох когоб я назвав дійсно цікавою людиною. Маючи неймовірно смаки в музиці, мистецтві, кіно та анімації він щей сам творив. І от саме в його піснях, записах та віршах я бачив напевно справжнього його. Такі люди не можуть просто пройти повз в твоєму житті, вони обов'язково після себе щось залишать і я радий що я був одним з тих самих людей яким пощастило його зустріти. Мені не вистачить рук щоб порахувати скільки Роман мене виручав та допомагав в усіх аспектах життя будь то матеріальних чи духовних. Я дійсно радий що знаю таку людину як він, звісно я не був згоден з усіма його думками але багато з них дали мені над чим замислитися. Дякую Роман що ти був тим ким хотів, дякую.

Помню Романа как очень эрудированного и смышленого парня, очень талантливого в музыке, всегда дружелюбен, всегда готов помочь(иногда во вред себе). (((В его трэках он рефлексировал насчет темы смерти и суицида, несправедливости текущего миропорядка.)))

Роман прилетів в Канаду наприкінці 22 року, у Вінніпег, хоча ми не домовлялися, але згодом туди прилетів і я з друзями)

Ми вважали, що влаштувався ліпше нас саме Рома, бо він відразу знайшов хорошу квартиру-студію та непоганну роботу, не за мінімалку як ми)

У нього були захоплення, такі як музика (бітмейкінг, мастерінг) та кавоварство( хз як називається). Я перейняв його захоплення музикою від нього, він навчив мене багато того, що знав сам, за що я йому дуже вдячний
