Help Romanian dogs, fund a day of spays & change lives

In May, we (Demi & Megan) will be traveling to Romania for four full days with our non-profit, Dunya’s Rescue Haven. Our goal is simple: to support the people on the ground, document what’s really happening, and use our platform to raise awareness for dogs who are too often unseen.

Romania is home to a large population of stray dogs, and one of the most effective ways to create long-term change is through sterilisation. That’s why we’re raising funds to support a full-day spayathon, a sterilisation marathon where experienced vets and volunteers work together to spay/neuter as many dogs as possible. In just one day, around 40 dogs can be helped, each procedure costing approximately €25.

During our time there, we’ll be working alongside organisations like Center of Hope, who organise these spayathons in areas where access to veterinary care is extremely limited. We’ll also visit Stefan’s shelter, where a 75-year-old man cares for over 300 dogs every single day, and join local rescuers who feed dogs in areas where help is needed most.

Alongside raising funds, we’ll be documenting everything, the reality on the ground, the work being done, and the direct impact of every donation. Our goal is not just to help in the moment, but to create awareness that leads to long-term support.

With this campaign, we aim to raise enough to fund one full day of sterilisations (40 dogs) and provide food for dogs and rescuers while we’re there.
