Somehow, Roman made it. He was rescued and brought to San Diego, where he was given a second chance instead of ending up in a shelter. That’s when I stepped in to foster him, hoping to give him the safe, loving home he’s always deserved while he waited to be adopted. Roman is truly something special. He is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and full of love. He bonds deeply with his people and just wants to feel safe. But because of the abuse and neglect he experienced early in life, he also carries anxiety and behavioral challenges that he can’t control. These aren’t flaws — they’re the result of what he’s been through.
Unfortunately, those challenges have made it impossible for me to continue housing him in my apartment due to landlord and neighbor concerns. What started as a 30-day notice has now turned into a deadline of this Monday. This is where we need help. Roman does not need to be given up on — he needs support. With professional behavioral training, Roman has an incredible chance to become the calm, confident, and adoptable dog we know he can be. Without it, he risks continuing to be misunderstood and overlooked, despite how much love he has to give.
We have found a one-month behavioral training program that can give Roman the structure and support he needs. Between Del Mar Dog Rescue and myself, we are committed to giving Roman this chance. We are doing everything we can — but we cannot do this alone. This is not just about training. This is about giving a dog who survived abandonment a real shot at a life filled with love and stability. Every dollar goes directly toward professional behavioral training, rehabilitation, and structure to give Roman the best chance at adoption. If you can donate, share, or even help spread Roman’s story, it truly means everything. Roman has already fought so hard to survive. Now we’re asking for your help to make sure he finally gets to live.
