Help Roline Complete Her PhD and Bridge the Digital Divide i
Donation protected
Hello. I am Roline Noua, and I am pursuing a PhD in Engineering in ljmu in the UK. My research is centred on designing AI-based systems for upgrading digital access among poor communities, especially in Cameroon and digitally disadvantaged areas of Liverpool.
This is not an academic work alone; it's also deeply personal. As a child raised in Cameroon, I experienced firsthand the effects of limited access to technology on education, possibilities, and health. And that's why it's become my academic calling to create innovative, sustainable approaches to closing the digital divide.
Although I initiated this journey with optimism and a Cameroonian sponsor, my sponsor unexpectedly pulled out funding after I had set out to pursue my PhD, leaving me financially vulnerable. I have tried to stay strong and persevere through it.
But then, in February this year, I was seriously injured in an accident that required knee surgery and several months of being on crutches. This injury has severely restricted my capacity to work and earn an income to cover my tuition and living costs.
Notwithstanding these hindrances, I am still bent on my goal. It has long been my childhood aspiration to get a PhD in engineering to contribute significantly towards the growth of my nation, Cameroon.
I am seeking £8,000 to help me pay the tuition fees for this academic year. I hope to find another sponsor for the remaining two years.
Your donation, however small, would make a wonderful difference. It would allow me to continue studying uninterrupted and work on finishing a project that can touch the lives of thousands.
If you cannot donate, please forward this campaign to your friends—any small amount of encouragement and visibility matters.
Thanks for reading my story, and thanks for supporting my cause.
Yours sincerely,
Roline Noua
