Never in a million years did I think we would have to make a GoFundMe. My name is Megan, and on Saturday, 5-17-25, my husband Cory and I started living our worst nightmare. Our 6-year-old son Roland tripped and fell into the fire pit. We were airlifted to Norton Children's Hospital in Louisville and have been here ever since. As of 5-20-25, we do not have a release date due to the medications needed for dressing changes and the number of people it takes to complete them. He is traumatized over these, and I know this battle is gonna be uphill. I just started my new job a month ago after having my own medical crisis and being out of work since December. Unfortunately, I don't have any PTO to take while I need to be here with him.

We don't know how much the medical bills will be; even with insurance, I'm expecting a pretty hefty bill.

Roland was supposed to graduate kindergarten today and was unable to be with his class. We did a video call with them, and the hospital threw him his own graduation here. I've posted a few of those pictures and the severity of his burns (I apologize, I know they are not pretty), but to see what this kiddo has going on and the smile on his face amazes me!

A little bit about Roland: he wants to be a brain surgeon when he grows up. He keeps telling his medical staff he is going to work here so he can help kids like they are helping him now. Roland is the most outgoing, politest, feistiest, and now most definitely the strongest kid I've ever known (being his momma, I might be biased). At this time, we are hoping to raise enough money to keep our bills paid while I am unable to work as well as hopefully put a dent in the upcoming medical bills. No amount is too small; every dollar and every share is truly appreciated.
