Help Rohan Move Somewhere Safe

My name is Rohan, I’m a 26 year old disabled trans man living in a very conservative, rural area of Illinois with my three rescue cats.


I’ve been trying to get back on my feet after a major suicidal episode and an extremely costly hospital stay in 2018. I have been making plans to move in with my partner in a much more accessible and safer area, and have been trying to save and tie up all my loose ends first, which has been difficult with all the medical bills.

I started HRT three months ago, and while it’s been amazing and healing for me, it has made me more nervous to be clearly transgender in an area where people are openly ignorant and hateful to people like me, who don’t tend to be out if they can help it. The area I’m moving to is much safer, and I could openly be myself without worrying about the hostility I’ve already experienced here. 

The house I live in is unclean and unsafe, and I’m currently staying in the unfinished attic because there is no room for me with the mess everywhere else. I have broken my ribs and been injured many times just walking around from nails and collapsing flooring, and the collapsing chimney.

The people I live with do not clean up after themselves and frequently make messes on purpose to try and get me to clean up after them, and I have learned that they have been in contact with people who have tested positive for the virus, displayed symptoms, but decided not to get tested, and only mentioned this to me after I gave them the courtesy of warning them about feeling ill myself. I am high risk and already didn’t feel safe in this house that had been impossible to keep sanitized, and this has pushed me to make this move as soon as possible. 

The money I am asking for will be going to pay off the rest of my car loan which can’t be paid for remotely, paying off hospitals bills while I look for a job in my new home/while quarantining, and the cross country move itself.
