Final update and extra gratitude,

We are so thankful for all of you! We have reached over 90% of our original goal. I have decided to close this campaign on December 2nd, as that is the day after my meeting with the transplant team. Your contributions have aided greatly in strengthening my case to be placed on the final list. For those of you who were unaware, below is a recap of the reasons we launched this campaign:

I am currently in the Stanford Liver Transplant protocol. Thankfully all of my current and future medical procedures have been seen to by my health care provider! The real hardship lies In receiving the mandatory in home care I will require for the 6 - 8 weeks following a transplant procedure.

There are no available programs to help cover this cost, and I have not received any regular income since retiring (tho I am currently applying for permanent disability). My research indicates a cost of about $3500 a month for the necessary care that Stanford requires.

The possible timeline for the need for any funds raised could be from a month or two from now to several years, so any donated funds would be kept in a separate account designated for this purpose solely. But without guarantee of this level of care, I will not be able to remain in consideration for the procedure.
