Roger Rodriguez Has Lost His Battle to D-Covid
Donation protected
Hi,
My name is Debbie and my husband and best friend is Roger Rodriguez. Since late July our family has been battling covid and it has been a struggle to get back on our feet. When we thought the worst was over, Roger became very ill very quickly. Having to quarantine can be difficult physically and emotionally, but when you see your loved one not being able to eat...drink or do anything to comfort them it takes a toll on you.
I remember the day the ambulance came to our home like it was yesterday. Roger could barely move, let alone walk to their vehicle. From there, everything else started happening quickly and the medical staff took over. Roger was given an IV, fluids, medication and placed on a ventilator to help with his oxygen. After running test the doctor called me and said Roger is battling Covid-Delta virus and has an infection caused by Bronchitis. They started him on antibiotics to battle that and every phone call from the hospital kept breaking my heart even more. These are phone calls no one should ever have to hear or go thru, but in my heart I just knew that with everything in me I need to help Roger fight. His oxygen levels continued to drop, his heart rate kept rising and his blood pressure kept rising.
Let me pause for a minute, because I feel my world turned upside down and thinking how am I going to explain this to the kids? to his family? to my family? There have been many many moments we have spent crying and trying to keep our household together. Between missing work and seeing Roger go into the hospital I truly am at a loss of words. It hurts knowing he is struggling and going through this pain, but we pray and pray everyday that the good lord brings him back to us. We would appreciate any amount of donation, a candle lit or even a small prayer that God heals Roger in Jesus name.
Currently, as hard as it is for me to write this, Rogers doctor called and said his chest is getting air bubbles, because his lungs are filled with fluid, bacteria and the infection so the air has nowhere else to go. Rogers body is entirely swollen and he has lost so much weight. His skin color is not the same, but God is good and we are staying hopeful. The next phone call I received nearly broke me, his lung has collapsed and popped so they are having to do immediate surgery on him. Although they are monitoring everything and with the grace of God he still has a heart beat......it will still be a long road to recovery.
We are truly in need of anything anyone can help us with and I am so thankful you took the time to read our story. The funds will be used towards medical expenses and bills that are continuing to come in.
It is truly hard for any person, any mom, any parent to reach out for help, but I still believe hope is a powerful thing. Lord we lift your name on high, please continue to watch over Roger and please bring him back to us. Amen.
