Ahh Ref! You missed that call. Are you blind? Well, there is an element of truth to that. Not that the call was missed, because it wasn't. But during my last full panel eye examination, I discovered that I am in desperate need of cataract eye surgery.
My name is Roger O'Brien, and for 47 years, I've been a soccer referee, dedicating my life to the sport I love. My eyes have seen it all on the field—from thrilling goals to heated debates. Now, as I enter my golden years, my vision is fading, and I need surgery to restore it. Without this procedure, I risk losing the ability to stay active, continue refereeing, and train the next generation of referees who will carry on the spirit of the game.
I'm reaching out to all sports enthusiasts, referees, players, coaches, and spectators to step up and assist me in covering the costs of this surgery. Your support will help me keep my independence, keep doing what I love, and give back to the soccer community. Thank you for your assistance and for believing in the power of teamwork—on and off the field.
Sincerely,
Roger O'Brien
