Help Roger Nelson with Urgent Medical Needs

My name is Traci Lapp, daughter of Roger Nelson. The week before last, my dad fell and fractured his foot on Tuesday then on Friday morning he fell again and hit his head. An ambulance took him to the hospital. He ended up with a fractured foot, and his blood sugar was over 400. They can't get that under control. He had chest pains, which called for another X-ray. His blood pressure was too high. He ended up with an infection and had to have a catheter put in to relieve some of the pain. He then had bleeding from his rectum. Ogallala didn't know why, so he was transferred from Ogallala Hospital to Scottsbluff Hospital.

My dad is 84 years old. My mom is 76 years old, and she doesn't drive long distances. They have Medicare for their insurance, which doesn't cover the nursing home he will probably have to go to for rehabilitation for his foot when he gets out of the hospital. I know their insurance doesn't cover much of anything. It's hard for the elderly to get insurance unless they have absolutely no assets, are not married, and have basically zero income.

I'm asking for funds to help with his medical bills, his nursing home stay, and the lost income. My mom will be going back and forth to the hospital in Scottsbluff until he's better. Funds are needed for her while she's there eating, and for the person that's helping drive her back and forth when I can't. Also, anyone that can drive my mom to Scottsbluff when I can't.

My dad is elderly, but that doesn't make his medical issues any less important. He was a huge part of the community, and he had a stroke when he was 53. He's had a lot of medical issues since then, and this time he has a big one. Thank you for reading my concerns, and we would appreciate anything from anyone that can help, including taking my mom back and forth to Scottsbluff. I can't afford to take off work every day, and neither can my husband, so we're just looking for friends that can help drive her there whenever they can.
