Help Roger Get the Heart Surgery He Needs

Our family is asking for help for someone who has spent his entire life taking care of others: our brother, father and grandfather, Roger.

Roger recently learned that he needs a triple bypass surgery. As someone who has lived with severe disabilities for over 30 years, involving crushed vertebrae and multiple surgeries to implant and maintain pain-relief stimulators, he is not in a financial position to cover the significant out-of-pocket costs that remain even after insurance. We want to help relieve that burden so he can focus on what matters most: his health and recovery.

For decades, Roger has been the person everyone could count on. He spent years caring for his mother, often staying overnight at the family home where she lived and then returning to his own home, going back and forth to make sure she always had the support and care she needed. After her passing, Roger moved back into the family home with his longtime partner and built an addition so his brother who was sick could live there and remain close to family and support. He also cared for his partner through years of serious health challenges, including severe diabetes and dialysis treatments before her passing.

Roger's compassion extends beyond his family. Over the years, he has cared for countless animals in need, adopting many and managing an entire neighborhood cat population, working in collaboration with animal services. For Roger, this has been a way to honor both his own love of animals and the memory of his late partner, while continuing to care for the neighborhood he has loved and called home his entire life.

He is also the kind of friend who always shows up. Whether it's a birthday party, a baptism, a wedding, or another important milestone, Roger is there. He has spent a lifetime supporting others, often putting their needs ahead of his own.

Anyone who knows Roger knows that beneath his tough exterior is a generous heart. He has quietly given so much to his family, friends, neighbors, and community over the years without ever asking for anything in return. Wether picking up his brother from the airport in the middle of the night, driving a neighbor to doctor's appointments, or doing yard work for those unable to on their own, Roger is always dependable and reliable.

Now, in his time of need, we hope to give back to the man who has given so much to all of us.

Any donation, no matter the amount, will help cover the costs of Roger's surgery and recovery. If you are unable to contribute, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much.

Thank you for helping us support Roger on his road to recovery.

With gratitude,

Roger's Family
