Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
On August 9th, 2024, an unexpected terrible event occurred—my 2015 Jeep Cherokee burst into flames with no warning, burning my passenger, totalling the vehicle and all my personal items that were inside. Beyond the physical trauma, I am now navigating the crippling psychological trauma thinking of the far reach of this new financial hardship. My heart was breaking as I watched my only means of transportation, my not so old laptop I use for my music jobs, cell phone, personal medication, cords, tools, chargers, even my sneakers (!) go up in hot flame and melt turning into charred unidentified ashes, as they were all inside my little Jeep home on wheels. Replacing these everyday things is so expensive and insurance isnt much help, in fact, the payout from StateFarm won't be enough to buy a safe used replacement vehicle. Everytime I close my eyes I see the orange wall of hot flames beginning to envelope my vehicle, watching the frightened expressions from my passenger; scared is an understatement. Bottom line is I could really use a little kindness and gracious generosity if it's in your heart to help me out. My vehicle is crucial for my livelihood, working, running errands, or staying connected with loved ones. The loss of my Jeep has left me in a difficult position, both financially and logistically. I’m reaching out for support to help fund the purchase of a new vehicle, offset my losses and help start a legal retainer. Any contribution, no matter how small, would make a significant difference and bring me one step closer to getting back on the road, and hopefully turn around the tough times. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any help you can provide. Your kindness and generosity really mean the world to me during this challenging time. With gratitude, Roger
