Help Rodrigo Fight Stage 4 Stomach Cancer
My beloved brother, Rodrigo Villegas, is courageously battling Stage 4 stomach cancer.
In October 2024, Rodrigo was diagnosed after what doctors first believed was just an ulcer. By then, he had already lost over 100 pounds in just 11 months because eating had become so painful and difficult.
Rodrigo has always been a hard worker — a true workaholic — so when doctors told him he needed to stop working immediately, it was devastating. With no income for almost a year, the financial strain has been overwhelming. Disability benefits have finally started to come through, but they barely cover the basics. Meanwhile, medical bills continue to pile up.
Since November 2024, Rodrigo has been undergoing intensive chemotherapy. His initial treatment (mFOLFOX with Nivolumab) required 6-hour hospital infusions followed by a 48-hour chemo pump every two weeks. The treatment was showing promising results — until June, when Rodrigo contracted COVID-19. This forced a pause in therapy, and when treatment resumed, his body suffered severe reactions, sending him into shock and requiring additional treatments to stabilize him. After two dangerous incidents, his oncologist, Dr. Julie Rowe at Memorial Hermann Cancer Center, had to stop that regimen.
Now, Rodrigo is on a new treatment plan of Ramucirumab and Paclitaxel, a challenging cycle of three weekly infusions followed by a short break. He continues to fight with incredible strength, but the road ahead is long and uncertain.
Rodrigo is not just a cancer patient — he is a brother, a friend, and a man who has always worked hard and given his all. Now he needs our help.
Your donations will go directly toward his medical expenses, living costs, and basic needs while he focuses on healing. No amount is too small, and every contribution brings us one step closer to lifting some of the burden from his shoulders.
Please consider donating and sharing this page to help Rodrigo in his fight for life. For any questions, please contact Rodrigo or our family directly.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
