Help Rodney Urke in this crucial time.

Hi, our names are Robbie and Raylene Urke, we are setting up this Go Fund Me to help Rodney and Brenda Urke get through one of the most terrifying times in their life together.

Rod has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphoma and Stage 4 throat cancer.

Rod started getting sick with what we thought was an ear infection and sore throat of some sort.

This had went on for some time because they had no insurance and have been on unemployment since before the pandemic started. Rod did not want to go in to the Dr at that point because Rod had a severe heart attack December 31st and those medical bill are tremendous.

On July 1st Rod went to the Dr for his ear and throat pain, Well, that is when things went from bad to worse. The Dr was suspicious and asked Rod to do a CT scan. At first they thought it was stage 2 throat cancer, we were scared with that diagnosis, but the news got worse.

On August 14th the final results of the PET scan showed Stage 4 Lymphoma and Stage 4 throat cancer. The Dr said this is treatable but not curable,

We have seen cancer before with Rod’s Mom and although she unfortunately lost the battle, Rod is determined to fight this head on, not only for him and his family, but for his mother.

After the news of the diagnosis, we then found out that their unemployment was ending for Rod and Brenda on August 30.

At this point Rod is unable to even look for a job, he is having radiation 5 days a week for 7 weeks and Chemo 1 time a week for 7 weeks. Brenda can’t find a job at this point due to having to take care of Rod by getting him to eat throughout the day and bringing him to all of his doctors appointments.

Rod and Brenda have always been there for everyone, if you needed help building things, fixing things, taking care of your kids, helping with meals, helping with important life milestone parties and so so much more, Rod and Brenda are always the first to help, If you need a shoulder to cry on and your life is in chaos, you open your door and you will always find Rod and Brenda there for you.

So, our reason for asking for help it to get them through the next few months with medical needs, housing and living. These are things that are highly stressful for them at this point and if we could take some of the burden away for a short time would help Rod fight his battle.
