Help Rodney Rest in Peace
Donation protected
On Monday January 20,2020 at roughly 5pm Rodney Trappen, the gentle giant, performed his final act of generosity at NYU Langone Hospital. Through a newly approved FDA surgery, Rodney donated his kind, loving heart. His choice to be an organ donor is exemplary of who Rodney was at his core. His donation not only saved the life of someone else but spared a family the devastation we all now feel. With this new, and revolutionary procedure, the increase in heart transplants done in the United States is projected to rise by 33%; a fitting tribute to the human Rodney was.
In Rodney's short 43 years, he managed to touch the heart of every being he encountered. His smile lit up every room he entered. I know this is often said when someone passes, but in Rodney's case it is an absolute fact. He was genuine in his expressions of love and care. He was a man that would give anything to make sure everyone else was happy and well taken care of. His concern was more often with others than himself.
Due to the unanticipated haste in which he succumbed to his illness, his family was ill prepared to deal with the financial impact of his interment. As one of the many people whom have been positively impacted by Rodney's life I humbly ask for your help. I would like to allow his family the time to mourn their brother and son with as minimal concern as possible. I am asking that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to ease the burden. A final act of kindness that we can all show to Rodney as he has shown to us all in so many ways.
Thank you,
