Help Rodney “Big Rod” Heal After a Life-Threatening Accident
Donation protected
We’re raising funds for our beloved friend Rodney Hardison—known to many as Big Rod—who was literally run over in a freak accident just weeks ago. Miraculously, he survived. Now he needs our support to recover and rebuild.
To know Rodney is to love him. He’s been a loyal friend, a source of laughter and strength through breakups, businesses, celebrations, and the hardest of times. He used to drive me to school before I had a license and has never stopped showing up for the people he loves.
Rodney served our country in the military then stayed in Germany and became a rockstar. You may remember Rodney from the ’90s Euro-dance group Fun Factory, where he filled stadiums across the world with music and joy.
(Yes, that Big Rod—watch him here: 1 , 2 and 3 ). Despite the fame, he’s always stayed grounded, kind, and generous—sharing his talents as a DJ, actor, comedian, and fashion designer in LA.
Rodney’s life changed in an instant.
In early April, while working on his beloved classic car, something went terribly wrong. The car slipped into reverse, knocked him over, and ran him over. A nearby security camera captured the horrifying scene—his head inches from the spinning tire as the car pinned him to the ground.
His doctors say it’s a miracle: if he were even slightly smaller or larger, he wouldn’t have survived. But he did. Barely.
Rodney suffered a shattered hip—broken in three places—and endured multiple hospital transfers, trauma care, and now intensive rehab. He’s fighting every day to walk again. Staff at the rehab center are blown away by his resilience and determination.
But like many artists and creatives, Rodney doesn’t have a safety net. He can’t work for a while, and the road ahead includes not only physical therapy and healing, but the basic necessities of life:
• A new accessible place to live while he’s unable to walk
• Medical bills and rehab expenses
• Healthy meals delivered to him
• Transportation to and from doctor visits
• Bodywork, supplements, and support therapies that aren’t covered by insurance
• Rent and essentials until he’s truly back on his feet
Now it’s our turn to be there for him.
Rodney has spent his life bringing joy to others. Let’s return the love. Any amount helps. If you’re able to give more, it would mean the world. And if you can’t give right now, please help us by sharing this campaign far and wide.
Let’s lift Rod up the way he’s lifted so many of us. All he needs to focus on is healing—and knowing he’s not alone.
With love and gratitude,
Team Rod
