Jane’s Urn - Memorial and Rodney’s Healing

Jane Ann Cearley
July 30, 1955 to December 29, 2025

We are hoping to help my brother, Rodney Cearley, who is a beloved son, an inspirational uncle, a giving nephew, a fun-loving cousin, a devoted doggy daddy and much more than that - a genuine human being, who would do anything for the underdog. Even more so than that, he was inseparable from Jane, his wife of 50 years.
Jane died suddenly from a pulmonary embolism Monday, December 29, 2025.
She died in Rodney’s arms.

Jane had been feeling bad, off and on, for over a month. Rodney wanted to take her to ER, but every time he mentioned it, she would refuse - saying “It isn’t THAT bad.”

When it was time for Christmas, even though she wasn’t feeling good, they packed up and went to mom’s in Hamlin, TX.

Jane worked, planned, cleaned, wrapped gifts and cooked Christmas dinner even though she had trouble breathing. We just thought it was some new virus or walking pneumonia.
We were wrong.

Inside - there was a lurking killer - the likes no one could fathom. When she finally said yes to call 9-1-1, she was gone in less than 5 minutes.

Rodney, like many, handed over his check and Jane did everything else. She was his manager, his scheduler, his apprentice, his banker, his life coach, his chef, his confidant, his queen, his love, his all.

Rodney is an impeccable plumber, construction renovator and the king of dirty jobs. Even at 70 years old he still works like he’s 40.
He absolutely loves football, but this play he cannot tackle.
He said, “I don’t know how to do anything. I’m afraid. I am shaking and scared to death. Sister, I’m not just over my head, I’m on the bottom of the ocean like the Titanic.”

He left for home for Willis, TX today to find a way to pay the bills in 10 days, maybe sell his sports memorabilia and navigate the impossible - how to sell other things that would allow him to survive.

One of Jane’s sister has paid for Jane’s cremation, but Rodney couldn’t afford her urn.

I am asking for anyone who understands what it’s like to lose their spouse or any loss for that matter, that feels urged to donate to Jane’s Urn - Memorial or to Rodney’s Healing, I will never forget your gift and your kindness.

I also would like to bring attention to pulmonary embolism and heart attacks for women. The symptoms don’t always present themselves as one would expect. Please take your loved one in for help even if they resist.
