On July 16th, I was just 70 meters from my house, pulling onto the main road, when I had to make a split-second decision to avoid a drunk driver. In doing so, I crashed my car into a pole. Thankfully, I was alone and no one else was hurt, but my car was totaled—the front quarter panel was destroyed and the transmission is gone. The loss of my vehicle has turned my daily life upside down, as I rely on my car for everything from getting to work to handling basic errands.

This accident has left me in a tough spot. I switched insurance providers last December and, unfortunately, I do not have collision coverage. That means I’m responsible for all the costs myself. I was already struggling financially, and now I’m facing a much deeper hole. Without a car, it’s nearly impossible for me to keep up with my responsibilities and get back on my feet.
