Help Rod Kick Pneumonia’s Butt and Get Back on His Feet!

So, here’s the deal: Rod was admitted to the hospital on February 8th for some serious trouble breathing, courtesy of pneumonia caused by the flu (because, of course, it’s 2025 and everything’s out to get us). He was immediately sent to the ICU for 20 days to fight for his life. While he was there, he managed to develop blood clots and a GI bleed (because why stop at just one medical emergency?) which required emergency surgery. For 5 whole days, he had to rely on a ventilator while his body and lungs did their best impression of a slow, but steady, recovery.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, life was throwing some extra punches. Rod’s company was bought out in January, and with that came the unfortunate loss of all his PTO and sick time. Then, just before his hospital stay, he got the news that the company he’d worked for 30 years was shutting down on March 12, leaving him jobless and fighting for his life in the ICU. Oh, and did we mention his fiancé, Bridgette? She’s been juggling the stress of being at the hospital with Rod, managing the house, and taking care of her two kids—so yeah, she’s also working overtime as a superhero.

Now for the good news: Rod’s making progress! He’s been moved out of the ICU and is on the mend. But here’s the catch: He can’t exactly start sending out resumes while he’s still recovering. Bridgette is slowly returning to work, but the bills are starting to pile up faster than Rod’s medical chart.

We’re hoping you’ll help us lighten the load by contributing to this fundraiser. Your donations will go towards Rod’s medical bills, household expenses, and keeping his spirits up while he recovers and gets back on his feet. We’d really love for him to be able to focus on healing and not how many extra zeros are appearing on the bills.

Any amount, big or small, will help Rod and his family keep afloat while they tackle this tough time. So, let’s band together and show Rod that even when life tries to knock him down, he’s got an army behind him.

Thanks for being awesome!
