Rocky is my mom’s 10-year-old dog and her constant companion. Over the past few days, Rocky has become very sick. He has blood in his stool, isn’t eating, and is only drinking small amounts of water. Normally, he is vocal and cheerful, but now he’s quiet and withdrawn, which is very concerning. My mom is a senior living on a fixed income. She is a retired respiratory therapist who retired early to care for my dad during his illness. After my dad passed away, Rocky became her emotional support and daily source of comfort, helping her through grief and giving her a reason to keep going. The sudden cost of emergency veterinary exams, tests, fluids, and treatment is overwhelming, and my mom simply cannot manage it alone. We are raising funds to help cover Rocky’s urgent medical care so he can receive the treatment he needs and get back to being the happy, loving dog my mom depends on.
