My name is Amanda Saldana and I am fundraising for my beloved Boxer dog, Rocky Donkey Saldana.

You may or may not know bout the Rocky Donkey. But let me tell you he lives up to his breed name and had a great head butt as he tries to get to your face for kisses. Nothing but kisses and wiggle butts. But he needs us now. He has been given a rough road ahead with the diagnosis of soft tissue sarcoma.

8 years ago we added this guy to our family. He didn’t look like the other boxers I’ve seen before. He was 2 years old but still a crazy puppy. Running, jumping and slobbery kisses. Once settled with our family he needed no training, no nothing. He went to work being him.

About a year later I was diagnosed with severe rheumatoid arthritis. I went to a dark place as my career, my job that I loved so much would be coming to an end sooner then later. Rocky Donkey was there. He was my shadow. He would lay with, on me, attached at the hip on my bad days. He would also know that I needed to get up and move so apparently his bladder forgot how to work and it was walks every hour or so. He saved my life during this time.

Fast forward to 2020, we all know what happened then. But for me, more bad news. The big C, cancer. Yet again, the Donkey was right by my side. He never wavered, through my sleepless nights on the couch, my days in bed. The boys would have to drag him most days to go potty. But right back to my side. On days that I felt like giving up, Donkey was always there for me. He knew, he knew when I needed to rest, he knew when I needed to get up. He knew before I did what I needed.

So now, when it’s my time to give him what he needs, I can’t. I need, we need your help. Any little bit can help us. With your help he can continue to break noses and play ball tag with accurate precision.
